About the Open Door Monster Dash 5K
The course starts at Canan Commons and moves through downtown Muncie, passing through the Minnetrista campus before picking up both the White River and Cardinal greenways. The terrain is paved and the route has a historic, park-like feel for much of it, with open greenway paths along the water making up a good stretch of the back half.
The finish returns to Canan Commons, where a trunk-or-treat runs alongside the race with community organizations set up in the lot. There is also a kids dash based there, so the morning tends to draw families as much as runners. It benefits a local maternal health program, and that purpose is pretty present in the atmosphere.
