About the Open Door Café Stuffed Strut 5k
The course runs through downtown Wytheville on paved roads, looping around the area near the Open Door Café where it starts and finishes. The terrain stays mostly flat the whole way. It is a Thanksgiving morning race, which means the air can be genuinely cold, so layers are worth thinking about before you head out.
Parking is available along the street and at a couple of nearby lots, including one at a church across Main Street. Warm refreshments are served at the finish, which is a welcome thing on a cold holiday morning. The race benefits the Open Door Café directly, and some participants come as fundraisers as well as runners.
