About the Oktoberfest Run & Walk

The course starts and finishes at the Deutsches Haus on Moss Street and takes runners through the Fairgrounds Racetrack, which is the centerpiece of the route. Running the track itself is the distinct moment here, and there is a sprint challenge on it where the top finishers earn prizes. The surrounding streets are flat New Orleans pavement.

Packet pickup runs the afternoon before the race at a running store in Metairie. Parking near the Deutsches Haus is limited and mostly paid; a school a short walk up Esplanade offers a lot, and the Canal streetcar drops you within easy walking distance. Bike parking is free at the front of the building.
