About the OKCU DPT 5K

The course winds through the university campus and into the surrounding neighborhoods, so the scenery changes as you go. There is also a shorter, untimed color run option where volunteers throw powdered dye at you along the way. A finish line festival with food trucks, games, and wellness booths follows the racing.

Packet pickup runs the afternoon before the race at a campus building near the corner of two named streets not far from the start. If you miss that window, pickup is also available at the start line on race morning before things get underway. Bring an ID either way.

Common Questions About the OKCU DPT 5K

Will I finish last at the OKCU DPT 5K?

Almost certainly not. Half the 3.1 Miles field finished slower than 31:49, and the last recorded finisher came in around 48:44, so there is a long tail of runners behind the middle of the pack. Most fields are far slower than people expect.

Is the OKCU DPT 5K a good first 3.1 Miles?

It is a small race (107 finishers), which is friendlier and less intimidating than a big-city event, though the field thins out. There is no qualifying time, and the finish-time spread above shows how varied the field really is. If it is your first 3.1 Miles, that spread matters more than the winner's time.

How competitive is the OKCU DPT 5K?

The 3.1 Miles winner ran 17:32 while the median finisher took 31:49. That spread points to a mixed field, with a competitive front and a big recreational middle.
