About the 8th Annual OKC Brain Tumor Walk and 5K Fun Run
The course runs through Stars and Stripes Park, a open green space on the west side of Oklahoma City. The route is a single loop, mostly flat, and open to walkers and runners together. The event grew from a memorial to one woman and still carries that weight; teams set up tents along the course and many participants carry signs honoring someone they lost.
The start area doubles as a base camp, with a registration tent for check-in and a designated area where teams pitch their own tents and settle in for the morning. Refreshments are provided, though the organizers encourage people to bring their own food and chairs. The event runs rain or shine, so dress in layers regardless of the forecast.
