About the 2027 Note in the Pocket 5K Rundie & Kids Fun Run

The course runs along the Third Fork Creek Trail, starting and finishing at Southern Boundaries Park. It is a trail route, so expect a natural surface underfoot rather than pavement. The race benefits a local nonprofit that clothes children and families in need, which shapes the feel of the morning.

Packet pickup runs at the nonprofit's own facility on the days before the race, with a race-morning option available at the park. Parking at Southern Boundaries Park is limited, but additional parking is available at the Note in the Pocket building, connected to the park by the same trail you will run.

Common Questions About the 2027 Note in the Pocket 5K Rundie & Kids Fun Run

Will I finish last at the 2027 Note in the Pocket 5K Rundie & Kids Fun Run?

Almost certainly not. Half the 5K field finished slower than 32:08, and the last recorded finisher came in around 1:28:24, so there is a long tail of runners behind the middle of the pack. Most fields are far slower than people expect.

Is the 2027 Note in the Pocket 5K Rundie & Kids Fun Run a good first 5K?

It is a small race (107 finishers), which is friendlier and less intimidating than a big-city event, though the field thins out. There is no qualifying time, and the finish-time spread above shows how varied the field really is. If it is your first 5K, that spread matters more than the winner's time.

How competitive is the 2027 Note in the Pocket 5K Rundie & Kids Fun Run?

The 5K winner ran 17:57 while the median finisher took 32:08. That spread points to a mixed field, with a competitive front and a big recreational middle.
