About the Northshore Half Marathon
The half marathon and ten-miler start and finish inside Fontainebleau State Park, under old oaks draped in moss. From there the courses head out along Lakeshore Drive and through the historic streets of Old Mandeville, with the lake visible and spectators spread along the route. The courses are flat, and runners tend to run fast here, especially in the cooler fall air.
Packet pickup happens at two local running and sporting goods stores on the days before the race, with a short race-morning window at the start area as a backup, though lines there can get long. After finishing, the post-race party runs for a few hours in the park, with pulled pork sliders, Abita beer, and a live band playing soul, country, and blues along the Lake Pontchartrain waterfront.
