About the Northern Illinois Food Bank's Fight Hunger 5K I 10K I 1-Mile
The course runs through Cantigny Park, a wooded estate with paved paths and open grounds. The terrain is gentle throughout, with no significant climbing. Several distance options mean you can see families pushing strollers alongside people racing hard, and the park setting keeps things quiet in the early miles even as the field spreads out.
Parking is free in the South Lot, and packet pickup opens early at the Visitor's Center on race morning, with check-in there as well. After you finish, a post-race festival takes over the start area: food trucks, a kids' zone with face painting and balloon artists, a large mobile gaming truck, and live music.
