About the Nogawild Safari Run
The course winds through a safari park and into the surrounding woods, so you are passing animal enclosures one moment and ducking under tree cover the next. Penguins, camels, zebras, capybaras, and honey badgers are all along the route. The ground shifts constantly, gravel to asphalt to mulch to trail, and there are a couple of shallow creek crossings with boards laid across them if you want to stay dry.
This is a fundraiser for an animal conservation organization, and it runs untimed, so bring a watch if you care about your pace. After the race, runners get a chance to visit the Scottish Highland cows up close before the safari drive-thru opens to participants. Check-in and the start are both in the morning, with a shorter kids loop option running shortly after the main wave.
