About the New Year's Resolution Run 5K and 1 Mile Family Fun Walk
The course runs on the Panhandle Trail, a crushed limestone path that goes out and comes back on the same stretch. It is flat the whole way, and the surface is firm and runnable. The race starts from Helicon Brewing, so there is a natural gathering spot before and after.
The brewery serves as the start and finish area, which gives the post-race scene a warmer feel than a parking lot. Age group awards cover a wide spread, and there is a pacer on the course targeting a specific finishing time for anyone chasing a New Year goal.
