About the NCSG 5K & 10K Championship Results

This is the championship 5K and 10K race for North Carolina Senior Games, held in Cary. The longer distance runs a couple of loops of the same course as the shorter one, so if you line up for the 10K you will pass the finish area midway through. The race is put on by a local nonprofit that has been organizing events in Cary for a long time.

Common Questions About the NCSG 5K & 10K Championship Results

Will I finish last at the NCSG 5K & 10K Championship Results?

Almost certainly not. Half the 3.1 Miles field finished slower than 31:19, and the last recorded finisher came in around 51:55, so there is a long tail of runners behind the middle of the pack. Most fields are far slower than people expect.

Is the NCSG 5K & 10K Championship Results a good first 3.1 Miles?

It is a small race (53 finishers), which is friendlier and less intimidating than a big-city event, though the field thins out. There is no qualifying time, and the finish-time spread above shows how varied the field really is. If it is your first 3.1 Miles, that spread matters more than the winner's time.

How competitive is the NCSG 5K & 10K Championship Results?

The 3.1 Miles winner ran 21:21 while the median finisher took 31:19. That spread points to a relatively quick field, so expect a competitive front end.
