About the Navajo Code Talker Honor Run
The course follows the Code Talker Trail from the Navajo Nation Museum up to an overlook of Window Rock Arch, then back down to the start. It is a point-and-return route on a named trail, not a road race. The arch overhead gives the run its sense of place, and the whole thing honors the Navajo Code Talkers on their national day of recognition.
Packet pickup is at the start line on race morning, so there is no separate trip the day before. Parking is available at the Museum. The event is cupless, so bring your own water. Breakfast bars and bananas are out before the start, and snacks and drinks are available after. Mornings here can swing from cool to warm, and afternoon thunderstorms are common.
