About the Nathan Memorial 5k
The course winds through the apple orchards at Robinette's, so expect soft ground underfoot and the kind of terrain that can get muddy in spring. The route is uneven in places, which is part of the nature of it. The shorter walk follows a firmer, established path, better suited for strollers. Top finishers in the main run are recognized, but the day is built around something bigger than times.
This is a memorial event honoring two young people, and the crowd reflects that. Pink is the color of the day. There are kids' activities and food on site, and the whole thing has the feel of a community gathering that happens to start with a run through an orchard.
