About the Mustang's Milestone 5K
The course starts and finishes at Hallie Wells Middle School, looping through Ovid Hazen Wells Recreational Park along the way. Inside the park, you pass a historic carousel that the school's namesake personally worked to bring to Clarksburg. The route is a single out-and-back style loop, and the park setting keeps it shaded and away from traffic.
Packet pickup opens race morning near the school, with a strict cutoff before the start so timing can be set. The principal opens with remarks and an anniversary acknowledgment, followed by a group warm-up on the start line. Awards go to overall and age-group winners, with a separate student bracket for younger runners.
