About the Mt. Rose Hill Climb

The course runs out and back from the Mt. Rose Summit Trailhead, climbing through Sierra Nevada terrain with views of Lake Tahoe and surrounding peaks. The trail winds up through switchbacks past a waterfall, then follows a dirt road to a ridge trail topping out at Relay Peak. The descent back is mostly on that dirt road, fast and runnable.

Packet pickup runs the evening before at Reno Running Company's Summit location, with limited race-morning pickup available. Parking at the trailhead is tight, a Forest Service permit restricts vehicles to the dirt lots and the main paved lot is off-limits. Carpooling is strongly encouraged. Aid stations are water only, so carry what you need beyond that.
