About the Mount Afton Challenge
The Mount Afton Challenge is a lap-based effort event where runners and ruckers go as far as they can within a set window, each at their own pace. The course loops through Afton Village, a walkable mixed-use neighborhood, so the surroundings are tidy and easy to navigate. You compete against yourself, and the person who covers the most ground in each division earns a prize.
After the event wraps, a wine bar in Afton Village opens early to serve food and drinks to participants, volunteers, and anyone who came out to cheer. It is a natural place to land, just steps from the course, and the crowd tends to linger.
