About the Mother of Mercy Academy's Howl-O-Ween Spooktacular 5K Walk/Run and Kids 1 Mile Fun Run
The course runs on road through White Oak Park, staying on pavement the whole way. It is flat park road, suitable for costumes, which the event actively encourages. The Halloween theme runs through the whole morning, and a kids fun run gives younger participants their own race.
After the race, there is a food truck, a costume contest, face painting, kids crafts, music, and photo opportunities on site. The event supports the school that organizes it, so the post-race crowd tends to be families with kids from the academy.
