About the Montessori Key West 5K Run/Walk & Kids Fun Run
The course runs at Truman Waterfront Park, right along the water, starting near a maritime museum on the promenade. The terrain is flat and the setting is open, with playground equipment nearby for kids between races. The event raises money for a local Montessori school, so the crowd skews toward families with children of all ages running alongside adults.
Packet pickup happens the afternoon before at the Montessori school on Varela Street. After the racing wraps up, there are refreshments, an awards ceremony, and a foam party at the finish line, the foam made from coconut oil and described as hypoallergenic. Worth bringing a towel if the kids plan to linger.
