About the Monster Dash To End Domestic Violence 5K

This is an evening Halloween-themed run that raises awareness for domestic violence, and the costume element is taken seriously: there are awards for best-dressed runner and best-dressed team. The course stays entirely on church property, running several loops around the grounds. It is compact and close to the start, so you are never far from the crowd.

Packet pickup happens on race evening at the same church lot that serves as the start and finish area. Registration can be completed on your phone right up until the gun, and cash is accepted on race day as well. Post-race awards cover age groups, overall top finishers, and a few novelty categories.

Common Questions About the Monster Dash To End Domestic Violence 5K

Will I finish last at the Monster Dash To End Domestic Violence 5K?

Almost certainly not. Half the 3.1 Miles field finished slower than 43:40, and the last recorded finisher came in around 1:10:57, so there is a long tail of runners behind the middle of the pack. Most fields are far slower than people expect.

Is the Monster Dash To End Domestic Violence 5K a good first 3.1 Miles?

It is a small race (85 finishers), which is friendlier and less intimidating than a big-city event, though the field thins out. There is no qualifying time, and the finish-time spread above shows how varied the field really is. If it is your first 3.1 Miles, that spread matters more than the winner's time.

How competitive is the Monster Dash To End Domestic Violence 5K?

The 3.1 Miles winner ran 20:15 while the median finisher took 43:40. That spread points to a broad, mostly recreational field rather than a race dominated by club runners.
