About the Monster Dash 5K

This is a costume race on the boardwalk side of Point Pleasant Beach, and the costumes are genuinely part of the competition. Awards go to top costumed finishers across several categories, from scariest to best homemade, so a lot of runners show up dressed to race. The course runs through town, and the whole morning has a seasonal, boardwalk feel to it.

Packet pickup happens the evening before the race at the Point Pleasant First Aid & Emergency Squad on Laurel Avenue, with race-morning pickup available at Jenkinson's Pavilion, which is also the start and post-race hub. After the race, Jenkinson's puts on a post-race party, and their boardwalk event runs the same day, so there is good reason to stick around the area.
