About the Monster Dash 5K
This is a Halloween costume run built around a high school campus in Ogden. The course was redesigned to stay close to the school and smooth out the elevation, so there is not much climbing to worry about. It draws people of a wide range of ages, and costumes are very much part of the atmosphere.
Proceeds go to a wish-granting charity for children with critical illnesses, so the cause is part of the event's identity. That gives the morning a purpose beyond the run itself, and you feel it in the crowd.
