About the Moab Locals 10K

This is a point-to-point road race that starts at a golf course and finishes at a regional hospital on the other end of town. Costumes are encouraged, and there is an award for the best one, which gives the morning a different feel than most road races. Dogs on leashes are welcome alongside their people.

Shuttles run from the finish area to the start on race morning, which makes the point-to-point logistics straightforward. Packet pickup is available the evening before at the finish area parking lot, with a second window on race morning before the start. Parking at the start is limited, so carpooling or biking over is worth considering.

Common Questions About the Moab Locals 10K

Will I finish last at the Moab Locals 10K?

Almost certainly not. Half the 6.2 Miles field finished slower than 59:30, and the last recorded finisher came in around 1:55:56, so there is a long tail of runners behind the middle of the pack. Most fields are far slower than people expect.

Is the Moab Locals 10K a good first 6.2 Miles?

A field of 211 is big enough that you will have company at your pace without feeling lost in a crowd. There is no qualifying time, and the finish-time spread above shows how varied the field really is. If it is your first 6.2 Miles, that spread matters more than the winner's time.

How competitive is the Moab Locals 10K?

The 6.2 Miles winner ran 30:44 while the median finisher took 59:30. That spread points to a broad, mostly recreational field rather than a race dominated by club runners.
