About the Miles for Mission 5K/2K
This race is put on by a homeschool co-op, and that shapes the whole morning. The field is a mix of kids and parents running together, with age group awards on the line. Both distances are timed, but the pace of the day is unhurried enough that you finish however you need to.
Families are asked to bring non-perishable food for a local crisis ministry pantry, so the entry line doubles as a donation drop. After the race, there are hot dogs and time to hang around. It is a real post-race lunch, not just a banana and a water cup.
