About the Miles for Midwest 5K

The course starts at the Midwest Food Bank facility and follows Peachtree City's cart path network, which winds through the area on paved paths normally shared with golf carts. The route is relatively flat and the surroundings are quiet, more neighborhood greenway than road race.

The start area is at the food bank building itself, which you can tour after the run to see the operation the race supports. Morning-of registration opens before the gun, and the race benefits hunger relief directly, so post-race there is some context to what you just ran for.

Common Questions About the Miles for Midwest 5K

Will I finish last at the Miles for Midwest 5K?

Almost certainly not. Half the 3.1 Miles field finished slower than 30:55, and the last recorded finisher came in around 57:54, so there is a long tail of runners behind the middle of the pack. Most fields are far slower than people expect.

Is the Miles for Midwest 5K a good first 3.1 Miles?

A field of 361 is big enough that you will have company at your pace without feeling lost in a crowd. There is no qualifying time, and the finish-time spread above shows how varied the field really is. If it is your first 3.1 Miles, that spread matters more than the winner's time.

How competitive is the Miles for Midwest 5K?

The 3.1 Miles winner ran 17:01 while the median finisher took 30:55. That spread points to a mixed field, with a competitive front and a big recreational middle.
