About the MiCHN 5K & 1-mile run/walk

The course stays entirely within the Capitol complex, running on concrete sidewalk and paved paths with no city streets involved. The surrounding grounds give the route an open, civic feel, with the Capitol building itself as a backdrop. The course loops the grounds a couple of times for the longer distance, so you cover the same territory more than once.

The race is part of a larger homeschool event at the Capitol, so the atmosphere is more gathering than pure race morning. Timing is handled professionally, and results come to your phone as you cross the finish line, which is a nice touch for families tracking multiple runners.
