About the Meglio's Run for the Pizza 5K
The race starts at a high school and raises money for breast cancer research. The main draw is the pizza: participants in the challenge format stop to eat a slice partway through the course, then again near the end, before finishing. Those who skip the challenge still get pizza at the end. Both formats run the same route.
After you finish, there is pizza from the sponsoring wood-fired pizzeria waiting in the post-race area. Chip timing is used for the main distance, with separate awards for the challenge and non-challenge formats. Overall and age-group prizes are handed out, and pizza figures into those too.
