About the 27th Annual McElveen Race For The ARK
The course runs through historic downtown Summerville, starting and finishing at St. Luke's Lutheran Church on Central Avenue. It is a certified road course with a few water stations along the way. The race benefits a local organization that supports families living with Alzheimer's and related dementia, and the morning draws both runners and walkers across a couple of distance options.
Packet pickup runs the afternoon before at The ARK House, with race-morning pickup available at the church before the start. After the shorter distance finishes, part of downtown closes for a block party. Beer is available at the finish for those with a bib and valid ID, and a pasta dinner can be pre-ordered for the evening before at the pickup location.
