About the Mayor's Run for the Trails 5K + Kids Fun Run
The course runs through Terra Park, tracing the trails the race is named for. The kids' shorter distance loops a lake, so even the youngest runners get a real sense of the park before they finish. The terrain follows park paths rather than roads, and the surroundings are wooded enough to feel like you are actually out on a trail.
Packet pickup runs the evening before at a community center, with race-morning pickup available at the park for those who cannot make it. After the race, bagels, fruit, and water are set out at the finish. The Mayor is at the finish line as runners come through, which is a small thing that makes it feel local in a good way.
