About the Matt St.James 5k Run/Walk
The course runs on cross country trails, so expect soft ground, turns through open terrain, and a feel closer to a high school championship meet than a road race. The whole thing is a tribute to a former cross country and track runner from the local area, and that context is hard to miss once you know it.
The start area is at a single address on Westside Drive, and everything happens on-site. Walkers start with the main wave, lining up behind runners. A shorter kids run follows after the main race wraps up, and there is chip timing throughout.
