About the Mansfield Martial Arts Center Black Belt 5K and Dog Walk
This is a 5K that doubles as a dog walk, with dogs from the local Richland County Animal Shelter available to walk alongside you on course. Proceeds go to that shelter, so the dogs trotting past you are part of the point. The race awards top overall finishers and age group places across a wide spread of categories.
Packet pickup and race-day registration open before the start, so you can show up without pre-registering. The start area has the feel of a martial arts school event, modest and straightforward, with the shelter connection giving the morning a clear sense of purpose beyond the finish line.
