About the Lutheran Counseling Services: We Care 5K
The course starts at a church and heads out onto the Seminole Trail before looping back. It is a paved, accessible route through a quiet stretch of trail, with no meaningful elevation to worry about. The race raises money for a local mental health agency, and that purpose is pretty visible in how the whole morning is put together.
A comfort dog is part of the post-race scene, which is a nice touch. There are snack bags at the finish. Virtual participation is also an option if you want to support the cause from somewhere else.
