About the LuHi Turkey Trot
The course starts and finishes on a school athletic field, looping around the track before turning out onto the Sangamon Valley Trail, a paved path that borders the southern edge of the grounds. It is a short, accessible route that mixes the open feel of a sports field with a stretch of trail running.
Post-race food and drinks are set up at the finish. Proceeds go toward the host school's cross country program, so the crowd skews toward school families and local runners who know the tradition behind the event.

How we calculate these stats: RunSesh calculates these figures from the most recent published results of past editions, sourced from RunSignup. We show aggregates only: field size, winning and median times, and the cutoff. We never publish individual finisher tables. Last updated Sep 10, 2026.
