About the Louisburg Turkey Trot
The course winds through historic downtown Louisburg on paved streets past residential neighborhoods, so you get a close look at the town rather than a park loop. Costumes are part of the morning, and the race benefits a pair of local food banks, which gives the whole thing a purpose beyond the finish line.
There is food and drink at the finish. Dogs on leashes are welcome, which makes the start area feel more like a neighborhood gathering than a typical race morning.
