About the Loopy Looper

Cooper River Park hosts this paved loop course, with the Philadelphia skyline sitting across the water the whole way around. The surface is nearly all road, with a short stretch of rubber track mixed in. Your pit area is right there each time you come through, so grabbing what you need mid-effort is simple.

A Wawa falls directly on the route, which matters on a long timed effort. The aid station is well stocked, and having your gear accessible every lap keeps fueling and pacing manageable without a lot of fuss.

Finish-Time Stats

Going by the 2025 results, this is a small, friendly field, and the spread of finish times is wide, so this is a mostly recreational race rather than one for club runners.

Common Questions About the Loopy Looper

Will I finish last at the Loopy Looper?

Almost certainly not. Half the race field finished slower than 11:13:16, and the last recorded finisher came in around 11:58:56, so there is a long tail of runners behind the middle of the pack. Most fields are far slower than people expect.

Is the Loopy Looper a good first race?

It is a small race (121 finishers), which is friendlier and less intimidating than a big-city event, though the field thins out. There is no qualifying time, and the finish-time spread above shows how varied the field really is. If it is your first race, that spread matters more than the winner's time.

How competitive is the Loopy Looper?

The race winner ran 1:50:43 while the median finisher took 11:13:16. That spread points to a broad, mostly recreational field rather than a race dominated by club runners.
