The course runs through Eldorado Park on an out-and-back route, so you see the same scenery twice and pass the turnaround point before heading back to the start. The park sits in a quiet part of Scottsdale, and the terrain is flat throughout. The race raises money for ocular melanoma research, so the field tends to draw people connected to that cause alongside everyday runners.
Packet pickup happens the evening before at a Road Runner Sports location. On race morning, parking is free and close to the start. The start area is tucked into the park near a picnic ramada by the skate park, not at the main entrance by the aquatics center.
