About the Little River Rush Half Marathon

The course runs point-to-point through the back roads of Townsend, dropping steadily the whole way to the finish at a high school. The descent is significant enough that the organizers felt the need to call it out explicitly, and the course carries USATF certification, so it counts for time standards and age-group records. Mountain surroundings line most of the route.

Everyone parks at the finish and boards a bus to the start. Packet pickup the evening before is at a restaurant in Farragut; race-morning pickup happens in the finish-area parking lot before the buses depart. The start staging area is in Townsend, at a spot the buses bring you to. After finishing, use the Lamar Alexander Parkway entrance and exit, not Tuckaleechee Pike.
