About the Trot for Education

The course starts and finishes on a football field at Eagleton College and Career Academy, so you get a real track-style send-off and a clear finish line moment. Part of the route runs near open traffic, so headphones are discouraged. The terrain is certified and the route is accessible, with a shorter fun run option alongside the main race.

Packet pickup is available the evening before at a date to be announced, with race-morning pickup on site as a backup. After the race, refreshments are set up in an event tent. An awards ceremony follows in the afternoon, and participants need to be present to collect.

Finish-Time Stats

Going by the 2025 results, this is a small, friendly field, and the spread of finish times is wide, so this is a mostly recreational race rather than one for club runners.

Common Questions About the Trot for Education

Will I finish last at the Trot for Education?

Almost certainly not. Half the 3.1 Miles field finished slower than 36:35, and the last recorded finisher came in around 1:00:53, so there is a long tail of runners behind the middle of the pack. Most fields are far slower than people expect.

Is the Trot for Education a good first 3.1 Miles?

A field of 213 is big enough that you will have company at your pace without feeling lost in a crowd. There is no qualifying time, and the finish-time spread above shows how varied the field really is. If it is your first 3.1 Miles, that spread matters more than the winner's time.

How competitive is the Trot for Education?

The 3.1 Miles winner ran 17:32 while the median finisher took 36:35. That spread points to a broad, mostly recreational field rather than a race dominated by club runners.
