About the Litchfield Hills Road Race

The course runs through Litchfield on roads that pass some genuinely pretty countryside. The defining feature is Gallows Lane, a hill steep enough that it has its own reputation among runners who have done this race before. The rest of the route rolls, but that climb is where the race is decided for most people.

Live bands are posted along the course, which gives the middle miles a different feel than a quiet road race. There are also shorter races for children running alongside the main event, so the morning draws a crowd beyond just the runners toeing the start line.
