The Lighthouse Run goes along the beach near the Sabine Pass Lighthouse, the historic structure the race exists to help restore. The course is flat sand underfoot, open to the sea breeze, with the sun dropping toward the horizon as runners finish. Top finishers in each gender are recognized, and driftwood-and-seashell pieces go to the winners.
