About the LFA 6th Annual 10K+ and 5K+/Walk

The course runs through the streets and sidewalks of Hyde Park and Mattapan, unsanctioned and untimed. The route feels like a neighborhood run rather than a racing circuit, and the organizers lean into that. The group behind it has spent years organizing weekly runs through these same streets, so the course reflects where they actually train.

The race starts with pre-race snacks and a warm-up before the clock matters at all. Hydration and refueling stations are set up along the course, and there is food at the finish. Because there is no official timing, most runners track themselves with a phone app. Parking and packet pickup details are not something the organizers spelled out publicly.

Common Questions About the LFA 6th Annual 10K+ and 5K+/Walk

Will I finish last at the LFA 6th Annual 10K+ and 5K+/Walk?

Almost certainly not. Half the 3.2 Miles field finished slower than 37:54, and the last recorded finisher came in around 1:32:17, so there is a long tail of runners behind the middle of the pack. Most fields are far slower than people expect.

Is the LFA 6th Annual 10K+ and 5K+/Walk a good first 3.2 Miles?

A field of 223 is big enough that you will have company at your pace without feeling lost in a crowd. There is no qualifying time, and the finish-time spread above shows how varied the field really is. If it is your first 3.2 Miles, that spread matters more than the winner's time.

How competitive is the LFA 6th Annual 10K+ and 5K+/Walk?

The 3.2 Miles winner ran 21:52 while the median finisher took 37:54. That spread points to a mixed field, with a competitive front and a big recreational middle.
