About the Lehigh Valley New Year's Chaser: Half Marathon, 10K and 5K
The course runs along the Ironton Rail Trail, so the surface is smooth and the grade stays mostly level throughout. All distances start and finish at the same spot, beside the Saylor Cement Kilns, which gives the area an interesting industrial backdrop you do not see at most road races. Several distance options make it a workable New Year's Day outing for runners at different points in their training.
Bib pickup opens on race morning, so there is no need to make a separate trip the day before. The finish area has a post-race celebration, with food among the draws after you cross the line.
