About the Legacy Ruck and Roll
This event in Richmond honors post-service veterans through a guided route rather than a timed race. Two routes share the same start and finish, splitting apart in the middle before rejoining. Along the way, stations pause the group for speakers whose remarks follow the arc of the Global War on Terror, prompting reflection at each stop. Carrying a ruck is optional and entirely up to the individual.
The two routes differ in length and terrain, one gentle and the other mildly rugged, so people can choose what suits them. Walkers, ruckers, and those using mobility aids are all welcome on the same course.
