About the Lake Superior Shore Run
The course starts and finishes at Little Presque Isle on Lake Superior, a recreation area a few miles north of Marquette. The half marathon route covers beach running along the lake, passes Harlow Lake, then climbs to a ridge with views of the Huron Mountains before dropping back down to a rugged shoreline stretch. Some sections are genuinely technical.
Packet pickup happens the evening before at South Beach on Lake Street, under a white tent, with race-morning pickup available at the start. Parking at Little Presque Isle is tight; the organizers ask runners to carpool or park at Wetmore Landing and walk in. You also need a recreation passport displayed on your vehicle.
