About the Lake Placid Marathon and Half and 10K
The course starts on Main Street, loops Mirror Lake, then heads out toward the ski jumps on River Road before turning back. It is a mix of open stretches, shaded sections, and rolling terrain with some real hills, and mountain views open up along the way. The marathon runs the out-and-back route twice; the half does it once. Both finish at the Olympic Speedskating Oval.
All races begin near the Mirror Lake Beach Boat House in a mass start. The course passes through the center of town early, so there are people around at the start. Food is available at the finish area.
