About the La Llorona "Ditch Witch" Run 10K, 5K and Kids K
The course runs through the Bosque, the cottonwood forest that lines the river on Albuquerque's west side. Trails here are flat and sandy, threading between tall trees whose leaves go gold in fall. The race leans into the folklore of La Llorona, the weeping woman of the river, and runners may spot her along the way. A twilight option sends participants out as dusk settles into the trees.
Packet pickup runs the afternoon before at a Fleet Feet location in town. Race-day pickup is available in the hours before the start for anyone coming from out of town. Parking is at the church that serves as the start and finish. Port-a-potties are near the start line, and there is a finish table with refreshments after you cross.
