About the Krul Lake Half Marathon
The course runs through longleaf pine forest around Krul Lake, inside Blackwater River State Forest. The trees are tall and the canopy is dense, and the terrain earns the half marathon distance. This is not a groomed path; expect a trail that pushes back. The picnic area near the lake serves as both the start and the finish.
Packet pickup runs the evening before at a running store in Pensacola, with an early race-morning window at the venue itself. After the race, a BBQ setup from a local vendor comes out at the finish area, and the lake is right there if you want to jump in before the drive home.
