About the Blackwater Heritage TrailBlazer

The Blackwater Heritage Trail is a paved, tree-lined path, and this race uses a stretch of it for an out-and-back course. The surface is smooth and runs through a canopy of trees, so even on a warm morning there is shade. There are two distances: a shorter fun run open to strollers and leashed dogs, and a longer race for those wanting something more competitive.

Packet pickup happens race morning at the trail visitor center, with a window that closes before the start. The awards ceremony for the longer distance takes place afterward at a local brewery, which also hosts a post-race gathering open to everyone, with drink specials for bib holders.
