Kingston Resorts Turkey Trot 5K

Myrtle Beach, SC

Registration openAnnual since at least 2025

About the Kingston Resorts Turkey Trot 5K

The course runs through the Kingston Resorts property in Myrtle Beach, looping past condos, villas, and coastal landscaping close to the beach. It is a couple of laps, so the terrain is consistent throughout, and the surroundings are resort grounds rather than open road. Proceeds go to a local running club that supports youth running programs.

Packet pickup and race-day registration both open before the start, held at Black Drum next to the Embassy Suites on the resort grounds. The start area is right there on the property, so there is no hunting for a separate location once you arrive.

Common Questions About the Kingston Resorts Turkey Trot 5K

Will I finish last at the Kingston Resorts Turkey Trot 5K?

Almost certainly not. Half the 3.1 Miles field finished slower than 36:19, and the last recorded finisher came in around 51:07, so there is a long tail of runners behind the middle of the pack. Most fields are far slower than people expect.

Is the Kingston Resorts Turkey Trot 5K a good first 3.1 Miles?

It is a small race (50 finishers), which is friendlier and less intimidating than a big-city event, though the field thins out. There is no qualifying time, and the finish-time spread above shows how varied the field really is. If it is your first 3.1 Miles, that spread matters more than the winner's time.

How competitive is the Kingston Resorts Turkey Trot 5K?

The 3.1 Miles winner ran 22:03 while the median finisher took 36:19. That spread points to a mixed field, with a competitive front and a big recreational middle.
