The race spreads across Key West over a weekend, with several distance options alongside a rum stroll and a beer mile, so the crowd at the start and finish tends to be a mix of people taking it seriously and people very much not. The finish area connects to a waterfront bar scene, and the post-race spread includes rum tasting and a party with live entertainment.

Packet pickup happens the afternoon before the race outside a raw bar on the waterfront, with a late option that evening at a running store on Duval Street. A breakfast spot on the beach opens early on race morning, and pasta is available nearby for anyone carbo-loading the day before.
