About the Kern Cancer Run/Walk and Festival 2026
The course runs through Riverwalk Park, which keeps things flat and shaded along the river corridor. Survivors get their own designated start area and go out ahead of the main field, so the opening minutes feel deliberate and unhurried. The event leans heavily into the festival side: a DJ, vendor fair, and live music with line dancing fill the morning around the running.
The schedule builds from a pre-race vendor fair into the run itself, then stays alive for hours afterward with music and announcements. Awards go to top finishers in the timed race and also to the biggest fundraisers, so the post-race gathering has a reason to stick around for.
